The Demon Slayer was a wonderful, interesting, and exciting book, full of twists. It seems to be the first of a series and I can’t wait to read the next one! The story merges our world with a fantasy one, where different types of dragons, dragon lords, and demons are present.

Ashera del Cid is a demon hunter who studied the dragon lord’s history, the only one with enough power to command the dragons. She works for an agency, with her foster father and sister.

But her life suddenly changes one night when her last assignment, helping a woman get rid of an incubus, turns out to be a trap. She kills the demon, but moments after she meets Ramiel of Besade, a powerful dragon lord and the one who killed Kyran, the slayer overlord, hundreds of years ago. The slayers were some of the few who could kill the dragon lords.

Ashera soon finds out that she is the last slayer, that her mother was Kyran’s sister and a dragon lady. In a race against the clock, she has to save her foster sister; get the heartstone from her mother, and claim her dragonhold.

With these characters, Ms. Nadia Lee exceeds herself. She starts drawing Ashera like an ordinary woman who tries to save the day, fighting against the demons because one of them caused the death of her first boyfriend. Her strength is tested with everything she does and succeeds in every situation while she fights for her life, to understand her past, and to find out if Ramiel is a friend or an enemy.

The book left us with a lot of questions. Who is Ashera’s father? Why do some of the dragon lord’s wanted to kill her? What was Ramiel’s vow to her mother? I hope the next one will give us some answers.

I totally recommend this book, it is one of the best I've ever read. I definitively have to check her other books. I give it 4.5 stars.
