Fearless by Ella Jameson

Summary:
FEARLESS

“We can surrender or we can fight.”

This is the creed that drives Chieftain Kieran MacAuley in his lifelong fight to free Ireland from the English. Known as The Fearless One, he leads his men into a battle that only he survives. While he waits for death to claim him, a courageous lass steps from the shadows.

A skilled healer, she will tell him only her first name: Brynna. Her mysterious past intrigues him, and her kind heart entrances him. When he finds himself suddenly home with no memory of his time away, he’s bewildered. One night a soft voice reaches through his hazy memory, lovingly whispering his name. The next night he hears only quiet sobbing, and then it falls silent. He cannot recall the woman who matches that voice, but his famed warrior instincts know some things for certain.

Brynna needs him. And he must do anything to find her.

There two types of writing styles that I commonly notice when it comes to love stories. I prefer those authors who write the character's love in such a way that you can feel as their relationship grows and unfortunately this book isn’t one of them. I hate the fact that the author just told of us of their love and the book is more focused on other events. Yes, it a romance book but we are focused on his search and the war.

I liked the concept of the book with the half fae woman and the other characters featured in the book. I understand this is the debut by this author, and I like the risk she took by introducing fae as fairies as part of the of Scottish folklore but the thing that disappointed me is how she wrote the love between the characters. I give this book 3.5 stars and hope this author will become better as time goes by.
