Denton is a Dom at a BDSM club on the planet Sypricon. His sub Jack left him six months ago out of fear of what his employees would think about him. After his brother's death, he realizes he needs to be with Denton, so he returns to the club to beg for forgiveness.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Denton and Jack and thought both characters were very enjoyable. I also liked how the world was built and would have loved to learn more about it (I haven't read the other books in the series yet) and the wars that were mentioned in the book.
The major problem that I had with this novel was that there were 3 sex scenes and 2 of the 3 were Jack with other people (women actually which just seemed weird in a gay novel). I didn't like that Denton's punishment for Jack was having him broken by pleasing other doms.
I'm giving Slow Break four stars cause I really enjoyed it and would like to read the other books about this world or about these two.

Jack thought he’d made the right choice to walk away from Tawse, the only BDSM club on Sypricon. But a life-altering tragedy has shown him the error of his ways. Now he’s ready to make amends and is more than prepared to kneel before the Dom he left so abruptly.
Denton is bound by the rules of Tawse, and he knows Jack’s membership has been terminated. But Jack’s return is all too personal and his actions can’t simply be ignored. Forced to make a choice, Denton does the only thing his instincts as a Dom tell him. After all, some men, like rules, are meant to be broken.
