There is definitely a very special atmosphere attached to this VERY short story!

There is darkness and despair in Nathaniel's heart. Five years after his wife's death, he's still unable to let go and mourns her with the same despair and the same guilt. He knows very well that he was the one who should have died, not her.

No women has touched his heart since the death of Maggie. That is until Rose. He is attracted to her but he refuses to admit it.

Then one day his friend James has a beautiful and romantic idea ...

This was well written and I liked the description of Nathaniel tortuous soul but unfortunately I was not able to feel any real connection with the hero. It was far too short! I am very curious to read something else by this author, a novella would be nice. I give 2.5/5.
