Shifting Hearts (The Wiccan Haus 1) by Dominique Eastwick

Summary:
The last of his kind…

Rekkus is the last of the great Black Tiger weres and he is happy to stay that way. Working as security for the Wiccan Haus, a magical spa for inner healing, he has enough danger – and women – to keep him busy. Unfortunately, the Fates are not content with him being comfortable.

Alone and discouraged…

Dana has walked away from all she has known, her fiancĂ©, family, apartment, and job. Now, having a ticket to the Wiccan Haus may be the only way she can move on. But what she finds isn’t what she expects, nor is it what she thought she was looking for.

Meet the unusual residents of the Wiccan Haus. The staff can get a little hairy and not all of the guests eat what’s served in the dining hall. But the proprietors always do what they can to make the resort into a place of healing and peace, using all of their years of practice. At the Haus, where humans and Paras reside side-by-side, everyone in need of the Rowan siblings’ services are welcome.

WELCOME TO THE WICCAN HAUS.

Reviewer: Dolce Amore
With the same style that has made Dominique Eastwick one of my favorite’s writers, she now adds to her resume a story featuring paranormal elements that I love so much.

Rekkus is amazing and makes me yearn to have my very own Rekkus. He is special, strong, and a shape shifter who will do anything to protect his mate. All of that is nothing new if you compare it to other characters from shape shifter’s books, but somehow he is more! Rather than have history repeat itself like with his parents, he would prefer living without Dana, his mate, if that is what she chooses.

Dana was to be married, but she decided to call off the wedding seconds before her fiancé ends up doing the same thing, however, her parents blame her and throw her out! A friend takes her to an island to relax and while still hurt and confused she meets Rekkus.

Will she be strong enough to accept the challenge of being his mate?

Ms. Eastwick fulfills what she promises, by taking this book to the next level. Her ideas are unusual, making me feel like I just found a rare diamond. Just like her previous books, her style is amazing! Although it seems that Ms. Dominique Eastwick added less depth to Dana's character, it doesn't take away anything from the story. Her tale is totally credible, the characters act like real people in the situations they are involved in.

This book was great, I will give it 4.5 stars.
