Sasha's Calling by T.C. Archer

Summary:
Nothing can stop freelance thief Sasha Smirnov from saving her planet -- except, Dirk, the gorgeous ambassador with polychrome eyes. Is it lust or designer pheromones? He is hot, too hot to resist -- or forget. A single, sizzling kiss burns him into her memory, and her body, but she can't afford to stop for passion, let alone love.

Sasha needs to get as far away from Dirk as possible and take the classified data she stole with her. So she stows away on a ship outward bound, only to discover Dirk's the pilot. Now she can't get away from him, or the system, but he will let her into his bed...

Sasha Smirnov is desperate. The sun of her homeworld, Magnus 3, was unstable and going nova. She knew that the Centor’s sun was similar and they didn’t have those problems, so she figured out that they must have some type of invention and that it could help them too.

When she was asked by a nasty crime lord to get some kind of retrovirus from Centor, she accepted just to try to find what kind of technology they are using. Everything at first went okay, but a scientist walked in while she was downloading the retrovirus model from Centor’s main computer and he sounded the alarm before she could knock him unconscious. That’s when Sasha finds the huge warp-field generator that could save her sun and she has a video of it.

While she was trying to get flee, she meets Dirk Roscoepilot and she hides in his ship. But her video is destroyed when Dirk turns her in to the Pinks, the ones from Centor, so she steals his ship and runs from the Pinks, Dirk, and her broken heart, knowing that she has to go back where it all started to get some proof of the huge warp-field generator.

Sasha meets Dirk again and this time he wants to help her, but although she still loves him she doesn’t trust him. With four other people, they again enter Centor, but will they get out alive?

I've read Winter in Paradise by Ms. Archer, and I said to myself that this book couldn’t be as good, but I was wrong! This was just as good as the other. The action was fast, interesting, complex, and captivating. The novel gripped me from the start and I could not put it down until I finished it. The interaction between the characters amazed me, especially the heroine.

We have Sasha who is fighting for her planet and her father, because if he has to leave Magnus 3, he will die. She's willing to risk her life, if it's necessary. She falls in love with Dirk, but her goal is still the same, no matter if she has to lose him or lose her life.

Dirk is not so clear like Sasha. He turns her in and when they meet again he tells her he did it for her sake, because he made a deal with the Pink to save her. But we are not sure if he was telling the truth or he lied. Also, we don’t know if he will be with her until the end or he will let her take the blame for being a spy.

I loved the book and the characters, although I would have liked to known Dirk better, so that’s why I will give it just 4.5 stars.
