Summary:
For months, Targitaus has lusted for Dahlia from afar, not daring to get close. He can't drag an innocent into the murky intelligence war he's engaged in, one filled with dangers he doesn't yet understand.
But Dahlia isn't just any human woman. Protected by a centuries old mage, Dahlia can handle an ancient Spentas warrior just fine. Tar finds himself wanting to tear her away from the irritating mage and lock her in his fortress on the Russian Steppes. But he's going to have to work for it.
Reviewer: Dolce Amore
This is the second book of The Chosen’s series and is Tar’s story.
When Tar’s wife dies, drained of her very life force, his only regret was not being able to find her killer. He had been sent by his Spentas king to marry her just in order to appear beholden to Senator Whatley, her father, and to move into his circle.
Now he is free to find out why he can’t stop thinking about Dahlia Garcia. So he's going to give her the interview of her life.
Right now she should be introducing herself in a professional manner, going over the logistics of the interview, and all she could think about was climbing him, rubbing herself all over him, letting him have his wicked way with her person.
However, like him, she is not an ordinary human. She is more, she is his mate.
I loved this book as much as the previous one. For a short story, it has wonderful characters and storyline and torrid scenes. 5 stars.
