It's been a while since I'd read a time-travel historical and originally I thought I was going to give this book three stars. Well I was wrong. It's an interesting book filled with treason and love, spanning nearly 500 years. Yep, one moment Candace is in the 21st century and the next minute in 16th century, and happens to land in midst of trouble and is found by the investigator Baron Ashton Laurent. Like most of them, they fall in love but face trouble, this time in the terms of a knight and the Baron’s betrothed.
I liked this book because it was more fast paced then the other ones I've read in this sub-genre. It was fast paced with lots of action. I couldn’t put the book down until the last page. I have to give this book 4 stars and this one is a recommended read for those looking for a more sexed up version of time-travel romance that a lot of traditional romance publishers published.

Candace Richards finds herself pushed through a doorway in time back to 16th century England via a freak strike of lightning. She meets the handsome and arrogant Baron Ashton Laurent who seems to have stepped out of her most erotic fairy tale. He’s tall, dark and handsome and thinks she’s a damsel in distress…well almost. He's enthralled by her as she is of him, but he is suspicious. There is serious trouble brewing in the land and she just might be part of it. But despite the looming danger, and Ashton’s betrothed, Candace can’t help falling for the baron even if it means getting in the middle of one madman’s plot of revenge and death.
